Aardvarks are unique creatures with some fascinating traits. Their name, meaning 'earth pig' in Afrikaans, reflects their burrowing habits. They are the sole species of their order, Tubulidentata. Aardvarks are also known for their long, sticky tongues, perfect for slurping up insects, and despite their pig-like appearance, they are more closely related to elephants.
